The ICED Council is formed by the Presidents, or their designates, of a country’s academic staff development network(s).

ICED was first convened in Oxford in 1993 by Graham Gibbs, Centre for Higher Education Practice (CeHEP), The Open University. Graham is an honorary life-time member of the ICED Council and Convenor of the Consortium.

The President of the ICED Council is elected by the ICED Council Members for a period of two years. James Wisdom is the current Chair of the ICED Council.
